Welcome to the College of Arts and Architecture!

The Penn State College of Arts and Architecture is one of only a few colleges in the nation that embraces a breadth of artistic activity including the visual arts, art history, the performing arts, and the design arts, including graphic design, architecture, and landscape architecture. Set in the context of a comprehensive Research 1 institution, we have over 1,400 students enrolled in the more than thirty undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered by the following academic units:

In addition, the college administers the Palmer Museum of Art and several venues for the performing arts, including the Center for the Performing Arts, Music at Penn's Woods, and Penn State Centre Stage. These units enhance the cultural experience for all students campus-wide as well as provide job and performance opportunities for College of Arts and Architecture students.

All of our academic facilities and many of our gallery and performance sites are located in close proximity in the Arts District on the north end of campus, further promoting a strong sense of community among faculty, students, and staff.

Most members of our faculty, in addition to being outstanding teachers, are engaged in the practice of their art, with many exhibiting nationally and internationally, performing in local and regional ensembles, and running private design and consulting practices.

We invite you to explore the arts and design at Penn State!
